Stew Markel, Associate Director ITAP
Stew Markel is the Associate Director of the International Teaching Assistant Program. Before being named the Associate Director, he served as a lecturer in the ITA Program. Prior to coming to Cornell, he worked as an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) instructor at Ocean University and Qingdao No. 2 Middle School in China. He has also held teaching positions with Highline Community College and the Chinese Information and Service Center in Seattle, Washington. He received a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Kalamazoo College and a M.Ed. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Seattle University.
