Faculty Program
David Way, Director
The Center for Teaching Excellence emphasizes the importance of life-long learning in the development of outstanding teachers. CTE's instructional support programs encourage a constant refinement and development of the practice of teaching and create an atmosphere in which teachers may discover their own most effective teaching methods.
This part of our website is set up for faculty specifically covering the following four fundamental skill areas of teaching:
- Course Design and Planning covers the skills involved in designing an effective course as well as planning for individual classes.
- Creating Effective Classroom Learning Experiences deals with how to engage students with meaningful classroom experiences.
- Assessing Student Learning addresses creating effective assessment schemas and grading systems.
- Professional Development covers both peer review of teaching and the documentation of instructional development over time.
